Being a non-profit, Ettin Con is staffed entirely by volunteers. Our ticket prices are low because we prefer to be accessible instead of profitable, and our budget consists mostly of venue hire, insurance, and promotion. Choosing to volunteer is a personal sacrifice of which we are extremely and personally aware, and as such:
- Providing a suitable shift is available, we'll cover your entry fee for a day if you commit to spending at least a quarter of a day working for us (three hours on Saturday, or two on Sunday). We hope that you spend the remainder of your time playing games and enjoying the event however you wish.
- Setup/packup hours count towards this quota, if required. If you manage to score a setup/packup shift, that just leaves more time to play!
- Running a reserved game session (like a Saturday RPG) counts towards your volunteer hours once you have a minimum of three players registered.
- Successfully running a Games on Demand session (Sunday) earns you a comparable reward, details will be confirmed after June 11 2021, when the timetable is finalised and rostering begins.
