At the edge of the world, almost beyond the empire's reach,
There is a knot of mountains at the heart of the coast.
Its rope-like arms unwind and thread their way across the land,
Northward to the river delta which feeds the mangroves, swamps and jungles,
Eastward from fertile woodland and flowing stream to barren desert,
Southward past the bay to the ice floes and snowdrifts hiding the mad city.
It is rare to see trade ships or envoys of the empress among the islands of the western archipelago. Reassuring thoughts of her persist in the hushed voices of the faithful few. Unrest grows from the loud complaints of those who feel abandoned and forgotten. They are forging new alliances, seeking aid from foreign and alien sources...
Across the coast, they struggle against the elements, beasts and monsters, magic and more. Their stories are yet to be told, because they are yours to tell, and we will write them into history together.
In July 2017, the first four sessions were played on a map which stood mostly empty of names or history, but full of potential and the promise of adventure! Look for the Ettin Con Worldbuilders logo on future RPG sessions which are part of the program, where you can play a character in our living world and shape its history!
